JAIME GANNON
Born in Hampshire, England in 1977, where till the age of twelve years
old he watched and studied his father, the glass maker, create weird and
wonderful objects of desire. During these twelve years the family
travelled to some of the most exotic and culturally rich locations in
the world, such as East and West Africa, Greece, Israel, Europe and
Egypt.
It was while travelling
that he conceived the idea of trying to record and interpret the
different cultures through the use of a pen, paintbrush and pencil. What
he did not know was this was going to be the building blocks in finding
his unique style later in his young career.
Some of the cultural
influences may have been osmotic or subliminal, but his work displays a
rich mixture of stylish originality, and eclectic references.
Jamie has developed and
expanded an inherent and diverse range of painting skills. From his
early focus on abstraction and the female form, he has ventured into
landscape themes that are almost surreal. They are unique and excitingly
different in their form, colour and style.
Jamie has exhibited in
Brisbane, extensively on the Sunshine Coast, his paintings have
attracted collectors not only from Australia but in the USA, Asia and
Britain.
