Retired TAFE Jewellery Teacher with forty-five years jewellery
experience, including thirty five years TAFE teaching.
Continuous showings in Fine Art Galleries in all Australian States after
a successful one man show at Verlie Just's "Town Gallery" in Brisbane
Represented in the Queensland Art Gallery, public and private
collections.
Medium used is hollow formed fabricated sculpture
WORK DESCRIPTION
The metal used is copper sheet.
All the sculptures are formed from numerous component pieces which are
hand beaten on wooden blocks and textured on steel blocks using mallets
and hammers.
Only hand tools are used.
The formed components are joined by phos/copper brazing using oxy/LP
heating.
Small sculptures are electronically brightened in an acid copper
electrolyte and all pieces are chemically coloured.
