Rod Nicholson
Rod Nicholson trained
under a Master Goldsmith in Brisbane, Australia before moving to the
U.K. where he established his own business in June 1996 with the
assistance of the Prince of Wales Youth Business Trust. He has just
recently returned to Australia and is keen to bring his knowledge and
experience gained in the U.K. to his future designs and jewellery.
Rod aims to make beautiful
jewellery accessible to all by producing well designed, wearable
jewellery at affordable prices with an emphasis on contemporary design.
Working mainly in silver
with l8ct gold detailing the jewellery is clean lined and eye catching.
The subtle yet strong silver designs include cool matt finish contrasted
with gemstones and diamonds set in gold.
Rod made and presented a
pair of his cufflinks to His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales at a
reception given by the Prince for recipients of the Youth Business Trust
Awards at his estate in Highgrove. The prince was delighted with the
gift especially as he is known for the fact that he always wears
cufflinks.
Rod draws inspiration from
many diverse areas such as ancient and medieval civilizations to modem
architecture. His new range of commemorative pieces prominently feature
the millennium hallmark. This hallmark is only available in the U.K.,
and all of these pieces will become heirlooms in the future.
