Sculpture is the art of taking a solid form and removing the unwanted parts, to reveal the beauty the artist can see in his minds eye.

Sculpture can also mean the reverse, when the artist builds a form from material such as clay or wax to create the subject, then usually this is fired in a kiln or molten metal is poured over the investment to create the finished sculpture.

From wonderful abstract nudes to magnificent bronze Clydesdale Horses we have an eclectic selection by some of Queensland's prominent sculptors.

The media used is as diverse as the artists them selves and is a reflection of their many faceted talents.

Pros Meyricks bronze horses are life like recreations that are in demand both in Australia and in the US of A. Fran Parkes abstract nudes exude an elegance that would enhance an modern decor. Georgette's style of both classical, and modern brashness is a breath of fresh air. Pamela Blair figures always have a touch of the whimsical about them.

One of the more unusual sculptors is Maayken whose chosen field is Paper sculpting which she combines with appropriate original poetry.

All our sculptors are more than happy to discuss private or corporate commissions to suit our clientele
